Efecto de NDP-MSH sobre la Neuroinflamación Inducida por una Dieta Rica en Grasas. Evaluación de Nanotecnología Como Estrategia Terapéutica

Resumen/Objetivos

Hemos demostrado ampliamente que α-MSH (Hormona alfa-melanocito estimulante), actuando a través de los receptores MC4 (MC4R), tienen propiedades antiinflamatorias y neuroprotectoras. Actualmente estudiamos el efecto del tratamiento con NDP-MSH, un agonista de los MC4R, sobre mecanismos involucrados en la neuroinflamación inducida por el consumo de una dieta alta en grasas (HFD). Utilizando un modelo in vivo de consumo de HFD durante diferentes períodos de tiempo estudiamos el efecto de NDP-MSH en el déficit de una memoria dependiente de hipocampo, así como en la plasticidad sináptica y la reactividad glial en esta región. Estudiamos también el efecto antiinflamatorio del tratamiento con NDP-MSH en la amígdala, área involucrada en desórdenes de ansiedad. Asimismo, evaluamos nuevas estrategias terapéuticas basadas en la nanotecnología.
